Boulder, Colorado and a Creative Slump

Yup – gonna be totally honest here. I’ve had a creative slump. There’s nothing worse than feeling like you’re unmotivated to do what you love most. For me – those things are blogging and travel! A trip was suddenly here and there was the potential for so many posts and I just wasn’t feeling creative. So we walked around Eben G Fine Park in Boulder and got outside of my head-space a bit.

That happens sometimes. It happens to the best authors, readers, artists, and photographers in the world, which means it’s sure as heck going to happen to me every once in a while!

(PS excuse his scraggly little man-bear… vacation = no shaving)

Sometimes you just gotta push through. Whenever I feel like I’ve hit a slump, whether it’s a creative lapse or a writer’s block, I force myself to keep working. Life will bring some creativity your way if you search for it. Get outside, spend some time with other creative people, and stop worrying about how “behind” you are. Sometimes you tell your man to pose and he does the face right, face forward, face left, of a mug shot and it turns out kinda cool! You just never know!

Spoiler alert: I can’t wait to share all the cool street art we saw in Denver. Talk about getting the creative juices flowing!

Thanks for stopping by! What’s your best tip for beaching a creative slump?
